Why come?
Are you interested in making your classroom instruction and learning community more inclusive and culturally responsive but not sure how to start? This one-day session will focus on strategies and tools to help! In this interactive workshop, we will spend the morning examining why it’s important to talk about race and culture with children and how we can do that with empathy and compassion. In the afternoon, our focus will be on understanding the role of culture and identity in the classroom. How does our own culture and identity impact the way we teach? How do we make our classroom a learning space where every child feels a strong sense of belonging? In our ever increasing globalized world, understanding and celebrating cultural differences has never been more essential.
