Terms and Conditions
General
These terms and conditions apply to all agreements between ISA doing business under the name of Centre for Development, Learning & Technology at the International School of Amsterdam (‘CDLT’) and the participant of the workshop(s)/event (s) at CDLT. Participant is defined as any natural or legal person who registers for and/or participates in a workshop/event at CDLT.
Registration for workshop/event
2. Registration will not be final until fees have been paid in full and a confirmation email of registration has been sent prior to the first day of the workshop/event.
3. Registration means that you are deemed to have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions.
4. Participant agrees to arrange payment for participation (‘registration fee’) within 14 days after receipt of the invoice.
5. The copyright on the course material and training materials and the other materials provided in the workshop/event is held by CDLT. Without the explicit written consent of CDLT, no data from and/or parts and/or excerpts from the provided course materials may be published or multiplied in any way whatsoever.
Cancellation or alteration of any workshop/event by CDLT or participant
6. CDLT reserves the right to cancel a workshop/event for any reason or to postpone it to a later date for any reason. The participant will be informed immediately. In the event of cancellation or postponement and the participant does not wish to register for participation in a subsequent workshop/event, any paid registration fee will be refunded within 10 working days.
7. CDLT reserves the right to make changes to workshops/events as long as it is reasonable to expect the participant to accept this (e.g. agenda, timetable). CDLT will give notice of such changes immediately on its website and inform the participant by email if available.
8. The participant can cancel the registration within 14 days after the registration. In the event of this cancellation, CDLT will provide a 100% refund of the registration fee.
9. Cancellation by the participant made 30 days prior to the first day of a workshop/an event will incur a credit note of 95% of the full amount of the registration fee. There will be no refund for cancellations made 29 days or less before the first day of a workshop/event.
10. Cancellations must be made by email to the CDLT Event Coordinator at cdlt@isa.nl.
Substitutions
11. Paid registrations may be transferred to a substitute participant from the same school or organisation. All substitution requests must be submitted in writing via email to the CDLT Event Coordinator at cdlt@isa.nl.
12. Changes in registration are not final until a confirmation email has been sent by CDLT.
13. Substitutions received within 7 days of a workshop / an event are subject to an administrative fee of 50 Euros inclusive of VAT.
Liability
14. CDLT accepts no liability for any direct or indirect losses and/or damages that follow from participation in the workshop/event or cancellation, postponement or alteration of the workshop/event. CDLT will not be liable if the performance of any of its obligations is rendered reasonably impossible by an event of Force Majeure. In this clause, an event of Force Majeure means an event beyond ISA’s control such as, but not limited to, specific incidents of exceptional adverse weather conditions, unstable political conditions, terrorism, pandemic, a strike or other industrial action, civil disorder, illness of personnel, obstruction of transportation and the inability to comply with the agreement as a result of the failure of third parties contracted by CDLT. In the event of Force Majeure, the event will be rescheduled if possible. If this is not possible within 12 months, CDLT has the right to cancel/rescind (in Dutch: ontbinden) the agreement, without any liability. The participant has no right to cancel/rescind the agreement in the event of Force Majeure.
15. No credits or refunds will be issued for difficulties experienced in transit or costs incurred due to changes in accommodation bookings.
16. ISA recommends that participants and/or their organisation purchase travel and cancellation insurance that protects the participant from losses as a result of sudden and unexpected conditions or events, or emergency situations.
17. Any possible (total) liability of CDLT will, in any case, be limited to the amount which the CDLT can charge its insurer. CDLT will, in no case, be liable for indirect damages, such as lost profits, wages and interests.
Applicable law, jurisdiction and complaint procedure
18. This agreement is governed exclusively by and construed in accordance with Dutch Law. In the case of any complaint, please refer to the complaints procedure as detailed on the CDLT website (www.cdlt.isa.nl/complaints-procedure). Any dispute or difference arising in connection with this agreement which cannot be amicably settled between parties, shall, in the first instance or in summary proceedings (kort geding), exclusively be submitted to the court of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Amendments
19. CDLT reserves the right to change any of the above terms and conditions at any time. Notice will be given of any changes and participants will have the right to cancel a booking if not in agreement with the changes in the terms and conditions.
Privacy Policy
20. CDLT collects and processes personal data necessary for the organisation of the workshop/event (name, email, name of school /organisation, teaching level/subject area, dietary requirements) of participants and speakers. CDLT respects the personal data of participants and speakers and does not sell, rent, loan, trade or otherwise transfer any personal data to any third party unless this is necessary to deliver the CDLT’s products and services.
21. Direct online registration for CDLT events is conducted through the third party ticketing platform www.eventbrite.com. See the separate terms and conditions for the Eventbrite platform.
The use of email
CDLT will only use the e-mail address of participants and speakers where a participant and speaker has specifically given opt-in. CDLT will always provide in every email, where relevant, an unsubscribe link.
Receiving information by email means that participants receive the latest information and updates of forthcoming events that can have an effect on their professional development.
