The CDLT is pleased to host the 2025 edition of the International School Business Management Institute by Sage Consultancy, returning to the International School of Amsterdam from Thursday, 18 to Saturday, 20 September 2025. This three-day professional learning event brings together business and operations leaders from international schools across the globe for a focused, engaging and highly practical development experience.
Now in its second year, the Institute offers two parallel programs tailored to meet the needs of school finance professionals at different stages of their careers. Participants may choose between Cornerstones, a foundation-level program for those new to the role or seeking to deepen core competencies, and Elevate, an advanced-level strand for experienced professionals aiming to refine their leadership and operational strategies.
The Institute is led by a team of experienced former school leaders and business directors, offering insight grounded in practice and supported by contemporary tools and case examples. Sessions run daily from 09:00 to 16:00 hrs, with a strong emphasis on peer engagement, applied learning, and sector-specific challenges.
Workshop description:
Cornerstones Program – Building a Strong Foundation
The Cornerstones Program is designed to equip new or emerging school business professionals with the essential tools and frameworks needed to thrive in the role. Through a structured three-day course, participants will explore key aspects of international school operations, including finance committee management, budgeting and fee-setting, financial reserves, stakeholder communications, and strategic planning. The program balances theory with practice and supports participants to step into leadership roles within their schools confidently.
Elevate Program – Advancing Practice and Leadership
The Elevate Program is intended for experienced school finance and operations leaders seeking to deepen their expertise and take their practice to the next level. Topics include advanced facilities and contract management, integration of technology and AI tools, risk mitigation, compliance and governance, procurement strategies, and aligning business operations with the school’s strategic and accreditation goals. The course promotes collaborative problem-solving and offers actionable strategies to lead complex operational portfolios effectively.
Each participant will receive a certificate of completion that outlines the course’s learning domains and is encouraged to bring real-world questions to a professional setting that fosters shared learning and innovation.
